It also accelerates transactions as it elimiates the need of the middlemen fruiting reduced cost. It caters transparent way of handling records. Also provides greater safety to the end-customers.
Communicational messages like OTP, verification code, notifications, deals, offers, discounts, etc coveyed by business to their customers need to be registered in the TRAI DLT platform.
You can get enrolled as a Business Entity, Telemarketer or an Enterprise. Averred below is the procedure to enroll to DLT.
• You need to choose if you are a Business Entity, a Telemarketer or an Enterprise.
• Click on 'NO' when questioned 'Have you registered with any other mobile operator DLT network.
• Then enter your business PAN Number and fill the form.
• After filling the form with required detials you need to wait for the OTP.
• Once done with the OTP, you need to verify your email address.
• Now login to the portal.
• You need to upload the vital documents.
• After completing the above stated steps you will receive a registeration number.
• Your Registration Id will be accorded to you within 72 hours of your KYC upload.
• Register your Headers(sender name): Once you receive your registration Id, you need to
register your HEADER (sender's name). Header is a unique union of six characters that represents the brand or comapny's name of the message sender. Prior header were known as Sender ID, but in the revised regulations of TRAI, sender id is termed as Header. To do the following you need to:
i. Select Header -- add a new Header.
ii. Choose Header type --- Promotional or Other
iii. Enter the header and check if available.
iv. Submit all the necessary documents and verify the OTP.
v. Now you can submit for approval.
• Promotional header are only for numeric heads. It should contain 6 numerical digits (not more , not less). Example: Bank - 197534, Real Estate - 287649, Education - 387484, Health - 444659
• Other header are for alphabetical heads. It contains only alphabets not numericals.
• Once you are with registration of headers, the next phase is adding Content Templates in DLT platform. Template registration task involves accumulation of consent of the end-customers to receive the future communications regarding the services.
vi. Select Template -- add a new Template.
vii. Choose communicating way as SMS.
viii. Choose the Template type --- Promotional/ Service Implicit/ Service Explicit/ Transactional.
ix. Add template content in the 'template content' box. You will get an OTP enter it and 'Submit'.
• For transactional templates you need to select 'Service Implicit' category. 'Transactional' category templates are served of bank OTPs.
• Select Content category from the list for the Promotional and Service Explicit type.
• Select Consent template for others.
